How the names are counted
Each count is the number of times the prophet's name is written in the Uthmani text of the Quran (the same text used in the QASAS app), word by word, so an ayah that names him twice counts twice. Spelling variants of the same name are included (for example the al-Baqarah spelling of Ibrahim).
Words that share the letters of a name but mean something else are left out: هُودًا meaning “Jews” (2:111, 2:135, 2:140), ṣāliḥ meaning “righteous”, and the verb يَحْيَىٰ “to live” (8:42, 20:74, 87:13). Titles such as Dhun-Nun, Ahmad or al-Masih are shown on the prophet's page but not added to the total.
Ayat are quoted verbatim in the Uthmani script with the Saheeh International translation. These pages hold no commentary; for the stories themselves, read the articles on the blog.
